Noah’s Ark Preschool director Christina M. Palazzolo, at the age of 44, tragically passed away on January 22, 2025, surrounded by the love and support of her family.
Her sudden departure leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. As a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Chrissy’s life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and compassion.
She was the devoted wife of Mark Palazzolo, a member of the Chicago Police Department, and the loving mother to her three children—Geovanni, Dominic, and Catherine Joy. Chrissy poured her heart into raising her children, always ensuring they knew how cherished they were.
She was a guiding presence in their lives, offering her unwavering love and support every step of the way. Her children were truly the center of her world, and she will forever be remembered as a selfless and dedicated mother who made sure her family felt cared for and loved.
Christina was the devoted daughter of Catherine (née Mailolo) and the late Peter Wonaitis. Her bond with her mother was especially profound, as they shared a deep connection built on love, respect, and understanding.
Chrissy also cherished her role as a sister to Michael and Anthony (Jenna) Wonaitis, and she formed special memories growing up with them. As the dearest granddaughter of JoAnna and the late John Mailolo, as well as the late Antoinette and Peter Wonaitis, Chrissy was surrounded by a loving extended family that gave her support and warmth throughout her life.
Her love and generosity extended to those who knew her as a niece, daughter-in-law, and friend. Chrissy was a loving daughter-in-law to the late Joseph (Maribeth) and Alice Palazzolo, who welcomed her with open arms into their family.
She had a special place in the hearts of many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Chrissy was not only a family member, but also a compassionate friend and a sister-in-law to many who will mourn her loss deeply.
Beyond her family, Chrissy’s passion and dedication were evident in her work at Noah’s Ark Preschool in Oak Lawn, Illinois. As a director and teacher, she touched the lives of countless children and families.
