The Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54 communities are mourning the sudden and tragic loss of Michelle Burke, a beloved and highly respected teacher.
Michelle passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2024, leaving behind her son, Tom; her sisters; and her cherished nephews and nieces. She was the daughter of Tommy and Betty Burke.
Michelle dedicated her career to inspiring young minds as a seventh-grade science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) teacher at Jane Addams Junior High School.
Known for her passion, dedication, and warm personality, she profoundly impacted the lives of her students and colleagues. Her commitment to education and STEM subjects enriched her students’ learning experiences and encouraged them to dream big and reach their goals.
The Jane Addams Junior High School community described Michelle as a loving and kind woman who brought positivity to every room she entered. Her contributions to the school and the lives of countless students will be remembered for years to come.
Michelle Burke Obituary and Funeral Arrangements
For those who knew and loved Michelle and wish to pay their respects, a service will occur on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Dalnotter Crematorium at 10:30 a.m., followed by a burial at 11:15 a.m. Light refreshments will be served at The Beardmore Hotel afterward, providing an opportunity for family, friends, and colleagues to celebrate Michelle’s life and legacy.
