The Beaumont Police Department is actively investigating a Friday night shooting that has now been classified as a homicide, marking the city’s second homicide of 2025.
The victim, identified as 24-year-old Deshawndrey Bowman, succumbed to his injuries early Monday morning at CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital. Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. has ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
The incident occurred on Friday, January 24, 2025, at approximately 6:44 p.m., when officers responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Brooklyn and Madison.
Upon arrival, they discovered Bowman inside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but tragically passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025.
Beaumont Police detectives are conducting a thorough investigation and are urging anyone with information related to this case to come forward.
