A tragic shooting on Chicago’s West Side late Thursday night has left a 35-year-old man dead.
The victim, identified as Tyrone Booker, also known by his nickname “Tune Havingshit,” was fatally shot while driving on South Sawyer Avenue.
The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. Police say Booker was driving through the Lawndale neighborhood when someone on foot opened fire, striking him in the torso and head. Despite his injuries, Booker attempted to flee the scene but lost control of his vehicle, crashing into two parked cars.
Emergency responders quickly transported Booker to Mt. Sinai Hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The Chicago Police Department has launched an investigation into the shooting but has yet to identify a motive or take any suspects into custody. Residents in the Lawndale community are urged to assist law enforcement by providing any information that could aid the investigation.
