Anthony Gennaro Persichetti Obituary – Anthony David Persichetti Death – Forsyth County Father and Son Dies in Apparent Murder-Suicide

A tragic incident in Forsyth County has left a father and son dead in what authorities believe to be a murder-suicide. The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the events unfolded on Jan. 22, following the discovery of a deceased individual at a home on Jefferson Place.

At approximately 10 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the residence after receiving a call from a woman who found the body of her ex-husband, 46-year-old Anthony Gennaro Persichetti.

According to authorities, the woman became concerned when Anthony failed to show up for work and decided to check on him. Upon entering the home, she discovered his lifeless body and immediately contacted law enforcement.

Investigators learned that Anthony shared the residence with his 24-year-old son, Anthony David Persichetti. The ex-wife informed detectives of this living arrangement and expressed concerns about her son’s possible involvement in the incident. Law enforcement began a search for Anthony David, fearing for his safety and hoping to uncover more details about the situation.

Later that day, authorities received a call from the Dekalb Medical Examiner’s Office, requesting assistance with a death notification. Anthony David had been found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a wooded area along North Druid Hills Road in Dekalb County. The discovery added a tragic layer to an already devastating situation.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the altercation between the father and son likely occurred the evening prior, between 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Evidence suggests that during the confrontation, Anthony David shot his father multiple times before leaving the home.

He then traveled to Dekalb County, where he ended his own life. The exact motive behind the incident remains unclear, and authorities are working diligently to uncover the events leading up to the tragedy.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office has emphasized that the investigation is ongoing. Detectives are piecing together evidence and interviewing individuals who may provide insight into the father-son relationship and any underlying issues that could have contributed to the confrontation.

This devastating incident underscores the importance of recognizing and addressing potential warning signs of mental health struggles, domestic conflicts, and emotional distress. The aftermath of such tragedies leaves families, friends, and communities grappling with unanswered questions and profound grief.
