At approximately 11:00 AM, a gunman opened fire in the school’s cafeteria, resulting in the death of 16-year-old Josselin Corea Escalante and injuring two others. The shooter, 17-year-old Solomon Henderson, tragically turned the weapon on himself after committing the attack.
The presence of two School Resource Officers (SROs) in the building at the time did not prevent the horrific incident, as they were not immediately near the cafeteria when the violence unfolded.
