Authorities in Jefferson Parish are investigating a tragic deputy-involved shooting in River Ridge that left three people dead, including a mother, her 2-year-old child, and the child’s father, while also leaving two other children seriously injured. The shooting, which occurred early Saturday morning, is being thoroughly investigated by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office (JPSO), as details continue to emerge about this devastating incident.

The Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identities of the victims and the shooter involved in the tragedy. The man identified as the shooter, Glenn Bohne Jr., is accused of fatally shooting his wife, Dung Pham, and their 2-year-old daughter, Amy Bohne. The two other children involved, a 13-year-old girl and a 9-year-old girl, were also injured during the violent encounter. The 9-year-old is reported to be in critical condition, while the older child is in stable condition.

The horrific shooting took place in the 10,000 block of Stephen Drive in River Ridge, a quiet residential neighborhood. According to Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph Lopinto, deputies were dispatched to the scene after a 911 call was made, reportedly by one of the children in the home. Upon arrival, deputies found what appeared to be a violent domestic situation where Glenn Bohne had allegedly shot and killed his wife and young daughter.

The sheriff confirmed that Bohne, 46, was confronted by deputies upon their arrival at the scene. During the encounter, authorities say that Bohne allegedly produced a firearm, leading several deputies to fire their weapons. Bohne was struck and fatally shot by the deputies at the scene. It remains unclear what led to the escalation of the situation, but authorities have described the incident as a domestic homicide turned violent.

Both the mother, Dung Pham, and her 2-year-old daughter were found dead at the scene, victims of a brutal domestic attack. In addition to the fatalities, two other children were injured. Emergency medical services (EMS) transported the 13-year-old and 9-year-old girls to Children’s Hospital, where they are receiving medical care for their gunshot wounds. The 9-year-old girl is said to be in critical condition, while the older child’s condition is more stable.

Sheriff Lopinto expressed his condolences to the family and acknowledged the tragic nature of the event. He also stated that the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is fully cooperating with the investigation, and additional details will be provided as they continue to process the scene and gather information.

The situation is still under investigation by the JPSO and the Louisiana State Police, who will determine the specifics of the shooting, including the actions taken by the deputies and the circumstances leading to the fatal confrontation. The incident has shocked the River Ridge community, where neighbors are expressing disbelief over the violence that unfolded within their quiet neighborhood.
