Angel Nieves Springfield Shooting, Death; 21-Year-Old Angel Nieves Killed in Cambridge Shooting
Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Monday night in Cambridge, resulting in the death of a 21-year-old man from Springfield.
According to a joint statement from Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Cambridge Police Commissioner Christine Elow, Cambridge police responded to reports of multiple gunshots on Clifton Street at approximately 11:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, identified as Angel Nieves, 21, of Springfield, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside a residence.
Nieves was immediately transported to Mount Auburn Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Preliminary findings from law enforcement indicate that the incident was isolated, suggesting it may not pose an ongoing threat to the public.
The investigation remains active and is being conducted collaboratively by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Cambridge Police Department, and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit.
